Dana Fykerud is a Writer, Director, and Actor currently residing in Bend, Oregon. She has earned a BFA from Webster University as well as a MFA from the University of Arizona. After graduating, Dana taught Dance and Movement until receiving her Pilates Certification from the Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. This led her to open her own Pilates studio for 10 years, originating in Salt Lake City, UT and relocating to Seattle, WA. Dana ventured into theater and acting, having written her own play, THREADS, and playing the role of Amelia Everett in the web-series TWINCIDENTS. She’s channeled her creativity into her newfound passion for filmmaking through her production company, Wild Sunflower Productions, in 2017. She aspires to draw the spotlight towards female-oriented stories, beginning with her debut short, RED WINE DRIVE, which she will be directing and producing in the Fall of 2018. Dana believes in achieving empathy through understanding. She strives to tell stories that bring awareness to difficult situations some face, in hopes that people can understand what they otherwise would be afraid of.
